Can I use Starlink while in Motion?

Starlink offers Mobile Priority service plans, available for both “Mobility” and “Maritime” usage, specifically designed for in-motion use with the Flat High Performance Starlink hardware.

However, please note that the Standard and Priority service plans, as outlined in Starlink’s Fair Use Policy, do not permit in-motion use.

For Mobile Regional and Mobile Global service plan users (offered under “Roam” and “Maritime”), you have the option to opt-in for Mobile Priority data on a per gigabyte basis. This allows you to use designated Starlink hardware while in motion. Keep in mind that in-motion use of Mobile Data is limited to speeds below 10mph.

It’s essential to be aware that Flat High Performance Starlink is available for purchase only in specific regions. If your account country is outside these regions, you can still use your existing Starlink hardware paired with Mobile Priority data to access prioritized service globally, both on land and in the ocean, while stationary.

However, using a Starlink that is not the Flat High Performance Starlink in motion carries some risks. Poor installation practices may result in equipment falling onto the road or off a vessel, leading to accidents causing bodily injury or property damage. Additionally, any damage to the Starlink dish while in motion may void your Starlink dish warranty.

Always ensure proper installation and use of the appropriate Starlink hardware for in-motion scenarios to maintain safety and avoid potential warranty issues.
